“Make his path straight.”

As John the Baptist prepared the way of the Lord, so we, too must prepare for his coming by being Jesus’ disciples—his witnesses in the world. Our readings today give us hope that Jesus is coming , but also offer a challenge to prepare the way before him. John the Baptist’s words in today’s Gospel point us to Jesus while challenging us to repent. In order to prepare the way and make straight his path, we must be willing to sometimes go out on a limb and be that voice crying in the wilderness, proclaiming the mightiness of our Saviour.

St. Patrick’s Parish 60th Anniversary

St. Patrick’s Parish celebrated its 60th anniversary on November 25th with special guest, former St. Patrick’s pastor, Fr. Bill McDonald in attendance.

The church has come a long way since its humble beginnings in its original Campbellton location thanks to the efforts, donations, and hard work of parishioners who have made the church the busy, active place that it is today.

To make the anniversary milestone, parishioners gathered for a catered dinner courtesy of the Royal Coachman.

Attendees were entertained by the String Beans, led by Christine Doknjas, the Tara School of Irish Dancing, under the direction of Margaret Mullen, and performers from Kathy Mascia’s School of Dance. In between performances, the crowd was led by members of the 9 a.m. choir in several sing-a-longs.

The evening was capped off with dancing and fellowship.

We look forward to 60 more years as the parish continues to thrive.
